Krzysztof Topolski

Krzysztof Topolski – a musician, an improviser, fascinated by the ambient. An author of sound installations. A drummer.

He created music to “Ciche Ciało” (Silent Body) performance by A.Haracz, I.Gilarska, 2010.

He is the composer of music to Stanisław Wyspiański’s “Klątwa” (Curse) performance, directed by Łukasz Kos, in Jelenia Góra Dramatic Stage Theatre.

In 2006 he took part in “ProjekPraga” (Prague Project), and Kaliningrad-Gdańsk Auto Tourism project. In 2007 Krzysztof Topolski participated in “Radiocustica” project in the Czech Radio in Prague, he ran sound workshops called “Kapusta” (Cabbage) in Feliks Nowowiejski Music Academy in Bydgoszcz. During the same year a composition entitled “Tresymesy” was created within “Missioneurope” project. He completed his project entitled “Arszyn _ Emigrant” thanks to the scholarship granted by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in 2007.

Krzysztof Topolski uses “live” recordings as his main source of sound material.

Earlier interest in modified instruments is currently fading and transforms into field recording, combined with sounds created by analog and digital sound generators in post-production and often with recording of, for instance, cooler fans.
