Jacek Krawczyk

A dancer, a choreographer, a dance teacher, a member of Polish Stage Dance and Ballet Section at Polish Artists Association, a graduate with Physical Education Academy in Gdańsk, he is the holder of dancer artist diploma granted by ZASP and acknowledged by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
In the years 1987–97, he was a teacher in dynamics and art of movement, an actor-dancer at Ekspresja theatre. In 1998 he started artistic cooperation with Joanna Czajkowska, which resulted in the launch of Okazjonalny theatre. As a dancer and a choreographer he cooperated with many alternative and institutional theatres: Gombrowicz City theatre in Gdynia (among others, choreography to Casanova performance), Rozrywka Theatre, Musical Theatre in Gdynia, New Theatre in Słupsk (stage movement to “Dziady” by A. Mickiewicz) and, among others, Capella Gedanesis, German theatre Audio Gruppe, French Artnotik Theatre. He staged theatres all over Poland and abroad (among others, Italy, Turkey, Russia, The Czech Republic, Latvia, Portugal, Germany, Belorussia). As a theatrical dance teacher she worked at Culture Animation Study, Żak Alternative Theatre School in Gdańsk and Off de Bicz Stage in Sopot. In 2004 and 2006 she received art scholarships from the Marshall of Pomorskie region. In 2006 he was nominated to the award „Artist of the Year 2005” in a popular vote by Gazeta Wyborcza Tricity. He is a laureate of Theatre Award granted by the Marshal of Pomorskie province for direction and choreography of two performances „Kwadrat. Wersja 6” (The Square. Version 6) and Tanz Streichquartett Helicopter”. A scholar of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage for 2006. During the winter semester of the academic year 2006/2007 he taught „Dance and movement systems in culture” at Culture Faculty of Gdańsk University. The performer of the role of Don Jose in a modern adaptation of Carmen by Jarosław Stańko during the Sacrum Profanum festival in Kraków. In April 2007, he received a honorary emblem “Meritorious to Polish culture” from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
